My teaching career started at Davison School in Melville teaching grade 5 & grade 6! I was contracted on a part time temporary contract. I enjoyed spending every morning with my first class. I taught my class Physical Education, Mathematics and English Language Arts.
Starting at the end of September I also took on a second position. This position was at Miller Elementary school on a .25 contact. Which meant I was able to spend time with my second class every second afternoon! At Miller I taught grade 3 & grade 4. The subjects I taught were Social Studies, Science, Health, and Physical Education!

It was a great first year and I felt like I was able to build genuine connections with both of my classes and their families. I advocated for inclusion; and tried my best to bring in every aspect of diversity into my classroom from read aloud(s), posters, conversations, lessons and more. One goal I have for future teaching years is to be able to adapt lessons for all my students better from students with lower grade levels, higher grade levels, or students with disabilities.
